Thursday, July 24, 7:00 p.m. Patriotic Shadowbox - we
had a similar shadowbox class last Christmas, using a wintery scene
with an angel, but this time we are going for a folk art patriotic
approach. We will be collaging on our boxes, then filling them
with fun objects and images, and sealing them off with glass to
finish. Please bring any old photos or images you want from home
or choose some from the shop! Hoorah for the red, white and
blue!

Thursday, August 7, 7:00 p.m. *Will be rescheduled in Fall 2008 Art Journals – this art
journal class will have a cowgirl theme, so boots and hats are
optional!! We will be setting a tin nicho into our cover,
incorporating cowgirl images and lots of vintage charm. Bring a
photo you would like for the face or choose one from the shop.

Thursday, August 14, 7:00 p.m. *Rescheduled to Saturday, August 16, 10:00 a.m. Collage Pennant – for
this fun project we will be layering collaged papers, fabrics and
canvas paper to make a fun pennant garland. There will be lots of
vintage images and glittery letters to play with, and of course game
pieces and buttons galore!! So come and play – a great
project for summer!

Thursday, August 21, 7:00 p.m. Ceiling Tin Collage – Our
very own local metal artist, Teresa Bouzak Senn, will return to
Assemblage to teach this fun project. We will be collaging on
ceiling tin, adding fun embellishments and finishing it off so
it’s ready for hanging. We’ll have lots of fun images
available here at the shop or bring a favorite one to work with.

Thursday, September 18, 7:00 p.m. Altered Game Boards –
okay, I admit it, I like to play games and this is the perfect way to
work out some of those issues we all have in our lives as a
game!!! We will be taking a vintage gameboard and collaging and
embellishing it with our own “theme” – it’s up
to you whether you get a pot of gold at the end of the game or live
happily ever after! We’ll have lots of game pieces, cards
and vintage dice to make our games the real thing, but feel free to
bring photos if you want to personalize yours. Come and
play!

Saturday, September 20, 10: a.m. Paper Fabric – mixed
media/fiber artist Theresa Peterman will be back at Assemblage to teach
this fun technique class. We will be using tyvek as our base and
layering lots of fun papers to make our own paper fabric. This
can be used as background for collage, bookmaking and more!!!

Thursday, September 25, 7:00 p.m. Collage Jointed Witch –
maybe we are getting into the witching season a little early, but it is
my favorite time of year, so why not!! We will be making our
witches out of cardstock, layering on collage and embellishments, using
eyelets and wire to put them together, with either a vintage image for
the face or one of your own from home. There will even be
broomsticks available for those who leave theirs at home!
