Felted “You” Bracelet – local fiber artist Jane Klozotsky will be joining us to teach this fun project and we are excited! We will be constructing our bracelets with colorful felted balls that we needlefelt, then adding charms that represent your favorite things (or a friend’s!), so start collecting charms and objects!! Of course, there are fabulous charms and lots of objects available at Assemblage, as usual! Please join us for this fun project.

Saturday, January 21, 10:00 a.m.
Altered Mixed Media Dollhouses – local mixed media artist Tyler Lambert will be joining me again to teach this fun workshop. We will be constructing our dollhouses out of various sized cigar boxes to depict our different rooms in a theme of your choice, then assembling them into a large structure with other elements (like trees, columns, etc.) The rooms will have a collaged background and we’ll be making unusual furniture to fill them. Start collecting now and thinking of your theme – there is a sample at the shop.
$70 class fee, some supplies included (bring miniatures from home or shop!)
Lunch will be provided! (this workshop will continue on Sunday if possible)

Beaded Handmade Journal – this is a new project for Assemblage and a fun one! Local beading artist Tina Adams will be teaching a beaded journal cover with embellishments, and then we will assemble our journals with handmade paper and ribbon. A fun project for the New Year!

Altered Books – back by popular demand, we will be doing another series of Altered Books classes here at Assemblage. Please join us and start a new altered book or continue working on an existing project. We will be exploring techniques such as pop-ups, 3 dimensional pages and more!

Saturday, February 11, 10:00 a.m.
Handmade Valentine Book - mixed media artist Tina Adams will be joining us again at Assemblage to teach this fun class. We will be constructing our special books out of chipboard with a simple ribbon binding, adding special pockets and fold outs for our messages of love, complete with vintage images and expressions. Please join us!
$40 class fee, supplies included, but bring papers or images from home that you might want to add!

Tuesday, February 14, 3:00 p.m. or Thursday, February 16, 7:00 p.m.
Paper Shoe Class – we will be constructing our tiny mary jane shoes out of cardstock , collaging and embellishing them with vintage images, then adding a few stitches to finish up. These can be a special valentine for that special friend, complete with words to express your own message. Come and play!

Hidden Message Book – local book artistKathy Hackbarth will be joining us at Assemblage Studio to teach this unique method of bookbinding. It is a piano hinge style binding, but with a secret space in the spine for a special picture, poem or verse. Please join us for this fun handmade book class – makes a great gift for someone you love!

Altered Paper Crowns – mixed media artist Tyler Lambert will be joining me to teach this fun project. We will be building our crowns from cardstock, adding dimension in layers, collaging nautical and ocean images, then adding mermaid paper dolls to complete the scene. “Swim past your boundaries” is the theme here, so come join us!

Elegant Envelopes With Pen & Ink - This three-step approach taught by Cathy Sampson of Ladysmyth Calligraphy, demystifies the beauty and elegance of flourished, formal, "wedding invitation" style lettering. No matter how badly you feel your handwriting is, you can create lovely notes and graceful envelopes. Cathy will cover: tools, techniques, paper and ink and lay-out envelopes - no more sloping addresses! Many fun and fascinating demos will be covered, and hand lettered, altered bookmarks and beautiful envelopes will be created. Come out for a fearless, fun day of playing with ancient tools in new ways!

Tuesday, April 3, 3:00 p.m. or Thursday, April 6, 7:00 p.m.
Garden House Books – this is a wonderful project, full of garden imagery inside and out, and I think it will make you smile! We will be using sturdy handmade paper for the base of our books, collaging on both sides, then putting them together with eyelets and ribbon or wire. The four pages will form the four walls of the house and can easily stand up for display on a table. Come play in the garden!!
